Our latest addition to the showroom at Cotes Mill is some stylish fitted storage. These pantry doors, with fully fitted interiors have made a small, shallow, quite unassuming alcove on the ground floor of the Mill into a well organised, neat, row of cupboards.
The walls are wonkey and initially it was just an awkward space which we didn’t really feel looked great whatever we put there. But now its fitted and painted in the same colour as the walls it looks like it was always meant to be there.
Simple and functional, fitted with shelves and hanging space it shows you how to make the very most of these places and spaces within your home. This fitted look would work perfectly anywhere , a pantry in the kitchen or hallway, a utility room, a linen cupboard on the landing or a cloakroom in the hall.
We frequently recommend this kind of storage to customers when we design their kitchens. It allows you to make full use of alcoves, sides of chimney breasts and long hall ways, for storage, allowing you the freedom to keep your kitchen uncluttered and simply furnished.
Imagine opening up up these lovely cupboards in your house and arranging linens and crockery, or ingredients all in neat rows. I like the idea of having cupboards in the hallway with rows of shoes, hats and scarfs alongside hanging coats and jackets. Or if I had a deep alcove, hiding my washing machine and tumble dryer behind doors, with open utility shelves above to store all my laundry and linens.
