The Pharaoh is a new shade for the world’s first designer energy saving light bulb, Plumen.
Since winning the Brit Insurance ‘Design of the Year’ in 2011 there hasn’t really been a shade that has worked in harmony with the light source. How can you protect the bulb without overpowering or obstructing the stunning visual elements?
Designed by Hulger, Pharaoh is a unique pendant light created specifically for the Plumen.
A mirror coating effectively hides the bulb during the day as it reflects all other light. When the lamp is switched on, the shade takes on a metallic transparency and the bulb silhouette glows through.
The curves of the bulb are best admired when lit, and the Pharaoh is a practical and almost magical pendant that compliments the Plumen very well.
