Fashion, food and teddy bears

Part of my job at deVOL is to put the new stock out on display and the other day we had a delivery of some lovely new books. As I was putting them all out, I was excited to see a lot of them were recipe books of sorts. As a bit of a foodie I had to have a little flick through them. I was so hungry after having a look, I just wanted to go home to cook a massive meal!
We don’t just stock cook books, we also have in architecture, fashion, colouring books, photography and handwriting books and they are all positioned in a quiet little corner here at the mill where you can sit and have a look through. They all would make such lovely gifts for friends and family and I thought I would show you some of my favourites.
Paris Street Style- A Guide to Effortless Chic
This is a perfect book for any fashion lovers. It has loads of handy little tips, for example the 8 essential items everyone should own, selecting the classic handbag and finding the ideal jeans. The book is full of photos that give you plenty of inspiration for your own style. Any book with clothes and photos in I am guaranteed to love, and I am sure my wardrobe will be expanding a bit after having a flick through this.
New York Cult Recipes
This is a great book written by a New Yorker who moved to Paris, and is about all the New York food he misses. It has recipes for coffee time, breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, snack time and well basically any time you are feeling hungry! It is hard not to love when you flick through and see recipes for glazed doughnuts, buttermilk pancakes, pumpkin pie, American cheeseburgers, chocolate chip cookies and of course New York cheesecake, yummy!!
Much loved
Now this is a book that when I first saw, I thought it was for children. However after having a little flick through I quickly saw it is a book full of photos of people’s much loved teddy bears. As I have a very loved teddy named Old Bear, I love it. It is so sweet, inside it states the name and age of the teddy and who it is owned by. You can clearly see from the photos they are some very old bears, and some you wonder how they are all in one piece. It is a great little book and something a little different to give as a gift. You are guaranteed to say ‘how sweet’ when looking at one page and then have a little laugh on the next.
