A PEEK INSIDE YOUR DEVOL KITCHENS

18th May 2021

By Lydia Winkfield

One of the big highlights of this job is getting to see how our lovely customers have made their kitchen their own, and in a normal year Helen, our Creative Director, and Tim, our photographer, would be buzzing around the country taking snaps of all the beautiful deVOL spaces that we’d designed. But this year they’ve both been incredibly busy filming our new TV show, ooh we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been working on! That’s why it’s been so exciting to see some absolutely gorgeous shots of our customers’ kitchens and accessories on Instagram. So, today I thought I’d share just a few of my favourites…

This beautiful blue kitchen, owned by Lonika Chande, can be found in a cosy cottage in West London. Photographed by Milo Brown

I’m starting off with this deliciously eclectic kitchen owned by the interior designer Lonika Chande. I love all the mismatched pieces in this room, from the perfectly scuffed bench to the chequered woven wicker rug and the vintage shelves, which were originally designed for hanging game. The perfect finishing touch is the beautiful painting that was done by her mother which sits pride of place right over the table. This is a true lesson in creating a quirky kitchen that feels personal and authentic but not at all overwhelming.

This calm and serene kitchen is part of the gorgeous Grey Shed Co holiday let, shot by Charlotte Eve Photography

From bold and bright to serene and neutral, this calm kitchen is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and the best part is, you can stay here! This lovely kitchen is part of the Grey Shed Co, a holiday cottage in the little village of Crayke, North Yorkshire. Oh how I’d love to cook up a leisurely breakfast at the big farmhouse table before a bracing walk on the moors… What lucky guests that get to stay here!

A ‘Bakehouse Green’ kitchen in a 400-year-old cottage!

Ever since we released our new Shaker colours we’ve been so excited to see them used in our customers’ homes. So it was a real thrill for us to see Bee Smith’s ‘Bakehouse Green’ kitchen sitting so naturally alongside flagstones and beams in her cottage that was more than 400 years old!

The dreamy farmhouse kitchen of Secret Istria

Whilst we’re on the topic of ‘Bakehouse Green’, how incredible is this farmhouse kitchen in Croatia? A perfectly scuffed stone floor, beautifully aged beams and one of our deVOL Laundry Maids hanging over the island, every single detail in this room is so dreamy and I’m completely in love with how this space turned out. And as if this kitchen couldn’t get any better, this is another holiday home that you can visit! I’ve got all my fingers crossed that we’ll be able to go and stay very soon.

The beautiful Sebastian Cox Kitchen of J+K Interiors

Ooh I do love a good shelfie, and what a treat it would be to cook up some of the meals from these recipe books in this gorgeous Sebastian Cox Kitchen. I love how they mixed classic marble worktops with an aged copper island, it brings just a little luxury to the space without feeling flashy or overwhelming.

A wall of windows, a cosy bright rug and freshly baked bread… all the ingredients for a dreamy kitchen! Image by Chris Snook Photography, architecture by Gruff Architects

It’s always so exciting to see the spaces that Beth Dadswell and Imperfect Interiors create around our kitchens, and when I first saw this picture, it really took my breath away! A wall of Crittall-style windows, looking out into a luscious and leafy garden, a few well-chosen accessories, and of course, our humble Shaker cupboards. What a treat for your kitchen to be flooded with light no matter the weather!

A beautiful Grade II listed home in East London, designed with Parnsip Design

We spotted this kitchen on Inigo, (an estate agency for Britain’s coolest historic homes, from the team behind The Modern House) and automatically recognised it as one of ours. I’m so in love with how moody and atmospheric this kitchen is without feeling at all dingy. Tall shelves filled with lovely vintage glass, jugs and general knick-knacks collected over years of travel give this space a real sense of personality, but keeping them high up and out of the way stops the room from feeling cluttered. Ohh I could stare at this kitchen for hours!

A calm and serene kitchen in Camberwell by Studio Mills, photography by Jon Day

This peaceful kitchen is the perfect oasis of calm in the middle of the city, with a pretty vintage table, some rambling wildflowers and a few cupboards painted in our deVOL shade ‘Mushroom’. Oh to be sat here with a coffee, a croissant and the morning paper, the dream!

A warm and cosy kitchen in New Jersey

We’re hopping over the pond for this kitchen which you’ll find in New Jersey, not so far from our NYC showroom, which is fitting, as these cupboards are painted in our deVOL shade ‘Bond Street Blue’! The owners, James and Elle, took a lot of inspiration from our ‘Victorian Rectory Kitchen’, but really made it their own with oodles of copper pans, hardwood floors and a few of our Crackle Pendant lights. The finished result is a room that is rich and deep and full of character.

A gorgeous shot of our deVOL Porcelain Pendant Light and our Aged Brass Ionian Tap taken by Jessie Casey Photography

I couldn’t go without including a picture of our beautiful deVOL accessories. It’s been so lovely to see even just a little slice of deVOL in homes all over the world, and this kitchen belonging to the very cool Sasha Herzig, really encapsulates this. I believe it’s the little details that make a room so special, and I love how Sasha incorporated our delicate Narrow Pleat Porcelain Pendant Light and our Aged Brass Ionian Tap and Rinse into her kitchen. They bring a perfect vintage feel to her space and give just a nod to English design in this American kitchen.

Ohh I could go on forever, there are just so many lovely images out there. Do please do keep tagging us and sending us your pictures, they’ve really cheered us up during this crazy year!
