Brass contains small percentages of lead to enhance its properties, making it suitable for various manufacturing processes. We use a range of traditional and modern manufacturing techniques that require varying alloys of brass.
Brass Taps
All of our brass taps comply with NSF/ANSI 61 standards.
NSF/ANSI 61 is an American National Standard developed by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). NSF/ANSI 61 focuses on the health effects of products, components, and materials that come into contact with drinking water. NSF/ANSI 61 certification provides peace of mind to consumers by indicating which products are safe for use in drinking water systems.
Furniture
Our carcasses and shelves are made from high-quality birch-veneered plywood which gives excellent rigidity.
The plywood used in our furniture is CARB Phase 2 compliant.
CARB 2 is a regulation created by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The board created this as a way to prevent formaldehyde from being released into the air and reducing the air quality.
The CARB phase 2 certification signifies that the product releases a low enough amount of formaldehyde to be considered safe.
Any formaldehyde released by products with a CARB phase 2 compliant seal is a small enough amount that it has absolutely no risk to your health.
