A Historical Viennese Apartment
This Haberdasher's kitchen is in the ‘sixth district’ of Vienna and has been a collaboration between deVOL and Laura Karasinski of Atelier Karasinski, an interior design company based in Vienna.
The colours, the mood and the building have all played equal parts in making this room feel somewhere between old and historic and incredibly cool. We are so pleased to see how wonderfully atmospheric and at home our Haberdasher's furniture looks in this grand apartment that is full of special and unusual features, like the decorative ceiling tiles.
There is a feeling this kitchen was made for this room, and it was maybe fitted in the middle of the century because it suits it so delightfully well. Something we strive for at deVOL is a feeling of authenticity and these images are absolutely perfect in our opinion.
The Bauwerk paint is called Paprika, it is earthy, bold and warm and ties together the ceiling, the furniture and the floor so expertly. Uneven and ranging in similar colours, the handmade Zellige tiles add a touch of rustic to this grand room, a decision we love as it keeps the feel of the room comfortable and easy.
This kitchen is so full of textures, shapes, and warmth. Everywhere you look has been considered, but not in a contrived way, your eye is drawn to every detail and every tone. We love what Laura Karasinski has done and how she has incorporated our Haberdasher's furniture into this very special home with such knowledge and sensitivity, and more than a little bit of risk-taking. It is these talents that, when used together, create interiors that are truly memorable and different.
