The Queens Park Kitchen
This amazing, living kitchen is about as wow as you can get. The house is an original Art Deco property located in Queens Park, northwest London and has been completely renovated throughout with great style and care. The whole kitchen design was inspired by the customers and their vision for this family space. The design of the room was also something they had seen and loved and wanted to re-create.
The kitchen's main feature is the big bespoke island, which is made from a combination of standard and bespoke Shaker cupboards, creating a 3 metre long preparation table with Carrara marble worktop and breakfast bar seating at the end. The island houses a dishwasher, double bin and sink along with a lovely open end to show off the beautiful crockery that this couple have collected over the years.
This kitchen is regularly used as a photoshoot destination for many of the big high street stores, and is also used as a backdrop for TV cookery shows such as 'Food Detectives'. This is one of our favourite kitchens of all time and it really shows the versatility of deVOL and the Real Shaker Kitchen.
The glazed wall cupboards are based on one of our favourite designs in the Shaker range, 'The London Glazed Wall Cupboard', so named as it was first designed for our showroom on Tysoe Street, Clerkenwell.
The kitchen opened out through some beautiful Crittall style windows onto a south-facing garden. The whole house was filled with an eclectic mix of old and new furniture. The most interesting and stylish pieces were the original cane and wicker chairs that had been found on eBay. This spacious kitchen and dining area felt very opulent and substantial, really properly done and well-considered; this house just oozed sophistication and cool.
