The East Sheen Kitchen
One handsome run of Haberdasher's cupboards, a big old wooden table, vintage chapel chairs and a view out to the garden, that’s sometimes all you need to create a beautiful and functional space.
We're quite used to seeing these mid-century-inspired cupboards in the moodiest of rooms, but actually, they're so full of personality and charm when kept really simple. A chalky off-white emulsion on the walls and some classic and vintage accessories. We loved the inclusion of our new Grand Tour Desk Lamp on the worksurface, small lights in the kitchen are such a great idea, they give off a mood like nothing else can.
A gorgeous white Lacanche cooker flanked by six beautiful base cupboards, integrating the bin, dishwasher, sink and storage. Mostly closed with tactile tambour fronts, one set of open drawers on the end and maybe the best bit, a glazed double door cupboard with delicate ethereal muslin curtains, just so pretty and so chic. Paonazzo marble with soft rounded edges and pale pink veining topped the furniture and the lovely shapely splashback was a great decision. Much more original than a plain square of tiles, this little detail has popped up in a few of our kitchens recently.
The marble chequerboard floor is one of our favourites, perhaps not an instant choice to go with our Haberdasher's furniture but in a Victorian house, and mixed with vintage pieces, it was actually a very clever decision.
If, like us, you have fallen for the un-kitcheny look of these Haberdasher's cupboards and how they can totally shape a room and make a home, then do get in touch. We can supply everything for a whole kitchen or just a special one-off piece.
