The Classic Millhouse Kitchen
After many years of renovating and restoring, we are finally able to open up some of the most beautiful rooms at Cotes Mill to our customers as new showrooms. There are three connecting rooms on the ground floor of the old mill house that we have worked on for over six months and at last, they are open. The images above are the main kitchen, there is a further scullery soon to be photographed and a dining room all connecting and open to customers. We have kept beams with the original paint on, we have laid an amazingly authentic terracotta floor from our sister company Floors of Stone and stripped the walls and doors back to their original glory.
We have fitted furniture from our Classic English range into this new showroom, the cupboards that deVOL began making all those years ago. They are bespoke and handmade in Loughborough, they are hand-painted and the look is traditional Georgian, these beautifully simple cupboards are made to last a lifetime.
We have introduced a few new and exciting designs into this Classic English Kitchen, glazed doors on our base cabinets, in this instance on the island, the look was taken from one of our favourite customer kitchens, Pearl Lowe and Danny Goffey’s Frome Kitchen. We have also made a beautifully rich and glossy bespoke hardwood work surface for the island, we wanted the room to feel more like a living space than just a kitchen and the wood certainly helps to soften and help this look.
Finally, we have decorated our Curiosity Cupboard to match in with the leafy green conservatory feel of the room. The yellow was an original colour in the room before we began the renovations so we kept it and added more. This white and yellow Curiosity Cupboard has a hand-painted interior it is fun and bold and adds a little whimsy to an already quite unique deVOL Kitchen.
